Shanghai Electric Showcases AI Solutions and Robotics at WAIC 2026

Shanghai Electric showcased its embodied intelligence robotics portfolio and AI-native solutions for smart factories at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance (WAIC) 2026 held in Shanghai. The company highlighted its capabilities in AI robots, core components, and intelligent factory solutions.

Exhibits included the "SUYUAN" humanoid robot with 41 degrees of freedom, designed for inspection and handling tasks, and the "TUOYUAN" wheeled industrial humanoid robot capable of connector insertion and material sorting. Shanghai Electric also demonstrated its advanced robotic hands and components, such as the DexHand, suitable for diverse gripping requirements.

The company launched 51 industrial AI models and agents, part of its "StarCloud Intelligent Manufacturing" series. These agents are designed to support various stages of industrial processes, including research and development, production, and maintenance, aiming to convert industrial expertise into reusable digital capabilities for process optimization and predictive maintenance.

Shanghai Electric also released the "AI-Native Smart Factory Technology White Paper," proposing an architecture for proactively developing factories with self-awareness, autonomous decision-making, and self-execution capabilities. This framework integrates process flows, industrial software, agents, and intelligent equipment to enhance factory operations through real-time data optimization.
