Shanghai Electric Showcases Industrial AI and Robotics Solutions

Shanghai Electric showcased a range of embodied intelligence solutions for various industrial applications at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance (WAIC 2026) in Shanghai. The company presented high-precision pipe inspection robots with positioning accuracy of ±1mm, alongside 51 industrial-grade AI agents.

Designed for complex and precision-demanding industrial tasks, including operations in confined spaces, Shanghai Electric's offerings include humanoid robots with 41 degrees of freedom, suitable for inspection, material handling, and assembly. They also demonstrated an industrial wheeled robot capable of parts handling and component sorting.

The company's portfolio also features an autonomous robot for chamfering pipe inner walls in tight spaces, achieving positioning accuracy within 1 millimeter. Shanghai Electric also introduced a comprehensive range of core robotics components, such as planetary gears and dexterous robotic hands.

Furthermore, Shanghai Electric launched 51 AI models and agents under its "StarCloud Intelligent Manufacturing" series. These agents are designed to support production optimization, quality inspection, and predictive maintenance. The company also released the "AI-Native Smart Factory Technology White Paper," outlining an architecture for implementing AI-native smart factories. This architecture aims to integrate production flows, software, agents, and equipment through real-time data.
