Chinese technology firm Shangwei New Materials has opened pre-orders for its two new consumer-grade robots, the Q1 and T1. The first batch of shipments is anticipated to commence in September.

The robots are available for pre-order through the company's official online channels, including Shangwei's official mini-program, Tmall, Douyin, and Bilibili, as well as at offline experience events.

Earlier in July, Shangwei New Materials unveiled the T1, which the company describes as the world's first transformable personal robot. The T1 supports dual locomotion modes: bipedal standing and quadrupedal walking. It is designed for flexible force control, quiet movement, and safety. Integrated features include long-term memory, foreign language teaching capabilities, graphical programming, reminder functions, and voice recognition.

Further capabilities for the T1 include order-taking, interactive games, and support for secondary development. Utilizing a Transformer cross-morphing architecture, the T1 allows for seamless switching between its two forms. Additional features include intelligent following, adaptive navigation over complex terrain, object carrying, Bluetooth speaker functionality, and camera integration for dynamic photography.

The company has partnered with Lens Intelligent Robot (Changsha) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Lens Technology, to establish a production line capable of manufacturing tens of thousands of robots. This collaboration will focus on precision parts processing, joint module production, and final assembly. The Q1 is positioned as a general-purpose humanoid robot, while the T1 combines quadrupedal stability with wheeled mobility for diverse environments.
