Shanling Audio has announced that its new ET3 EVO CD transport will be available for purchase online starting July 8, with a retail price of 3998 yuan (approximately $550 USD). This release positions the ET3 EVO as a dedicated digital source component for audiophiles.
The design incorporates a matte charcoal gray aluminum body complemented by carbon fiber texture accents. It features a gold-plated logo and a crimson rotary knob. A circular high-definition display and a distinctive ring-shaped glass CD compartment create a geometric visual element.
Shanling states that the audio performance has been a core focus for this upgrade. Through nearly two years of tuning and optimization of internal circuitry and key components, the ET3 EVO is described as offering a more composed and transparent sound compared to its predecessor. The high-frequency extension is noted as natural and smooth, rich in detail without harshness, while dynamic range and instrumental texture are faithfully reproduced.
While specific technical specifications for the ET3 EVO have not yet been fully detailed, the previous ET3 model offered support for various digital outputs, including USB. It also supported playback from USB drives up to 2TB, handling formats up to PCM 768kHz/32bit and DSD512. The prior model also included Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity for audio streaming.
