Shareholders file class action lawsuit against The Chemours Company

Legal firm Schall, Brown & Schwartz is seeking lead plaintiffs for a class action lawsuit against The Chemours Company, alleging securities fraud during 2026.

4 November 2026

Shareholders of The Chemours Company (NYSE: CC) have initiated a class action lawsuit, represented by Schall, Brown & Schwartz LLP. The litigation alleges that the chemical manufacturer violated the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by issuing materially false and misleading statements to the market between February 20, 2026, and August 4, 2026.

The complaint centers on allegations that Chemours overstated market demand for its Opteon product line. According to the filing, the company faced significant slowing demand resulting from prior periods of inventory overstocking, rendering its 2026 fiscal guidance unreliable. Investors allege that these discrepancies misled the market and caused financial losses when the actual performance was revealed.

Legal counsel is currently seeking to appoint lead plaintiffs for the class. The court-imposed deadline for interested investors to apply is December 7, 2026. The class has not yet been formally certified by the court.
