Sharp Biomedical Secures Pre-Seed Funding for Spine Procedure Technology
Sharp Biomedical has closed a pre-seed funding round led by gener8tor. The capital will fund the development and testing of new tools and implants for outpatient spine pain procedures.

FARGO, N.D. – Medical device company Sharp Biomedical announced the closing of its pre-seed funding round, led by North Dakota venture capital firm gener8tor 1889, with participation from physician angel investors.
The newly acquired capital will fully fund the development and testing required to bring Sharp Biomedical's first purpose-built toolset and implant system to market. The technology is designed for outpatient pain clinics to offer a new treatment option for patients experiencing early-to-mid-stage chronic pain.
Sharp Biomedical's approach focuses on developing simple, safe, and entirely manual procedures that can be seamlessly integrated into the workflow of outpatient facilities. This aims to broaden patient access to effective interventions without necessitating significant capital expenditures or infrastructure overhauls.
"This pre-seed funding allows us to empower physicians with simple, safe, and reliable procedures—giving clinics advanced intervention capabilities without the burden of massive capital demands," said Dan Newman, Founder and CEO of Sharp Biomedical.
The company will now proceed with rigorous testing protocols and physician input, positioning itself for future regulatory milestones and the eventual commercial launch of its primary device.
