Lingkong Games, a Chinese game developer, has released the official system requirements for its upcoming title, "Showa American Story." The game, set in an alternate 1980s America heavily influenced by Japanese culture, is now slated for a 2026 release, a shift from its previously anticipated 2025 launch. The delay is attributed to the final stages of development.
The minimum PC requirements for "Showa American Story" include a 64-bit version of Windows 10, an Intel Core i5-5575R processor, 8 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 graphics card. Recommended specifications are an Intel Core i7-4770K, 16 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660Ti. The game will require 50 GB of storage space.
"Showa American Story" centers on the adventures of Chōko, a resurrected girl navigating a world where Japan has culturally dominated the United States. The game promises a distinctive blend of 1980s aesthetics and a dystopian narrative, and will be available on PlayStation 5 and PC.
The development studio plans to showcase "Showa American Story" at Gamescom in Cologne from August 26-30, where playable demos and new trailers are expected. The last trailer for the game was released in November 2024, coinciding with the announcement of the revised release schedule.
