Ningbo VET Energy Technology Co., Ltd. has introduced new silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic wafer boats designed to enhance efficiency and reliability in semiconductor manufacturing processes.

These SiC wafer boats are increasingly replacing traditional quartz carriers, particularly in 300mm wafer manufacturing, power semiconductor production, and third-generation semiconductor fabrication. SiC material offers significantly superior thermal conductivity (120-200 W/m·K compared to quartz's 1.4 W/m·K) and mechanical rigidity. This improvement leads to more uniform temperature distribution within the furnace, reduced thermal stress, and fewer defects in the semiconductor wafers.

Diffusion and oxidation processes are fundamental steps in semiconductor manufacturing, often involving temperatures ranging from approximately 900°C to 1200°C, and potentially exceeding 1300°C for power semiconductor applications. Traditional quartz wafer boats can soften or deform under such high temperatures, impacting process repeatability. SiC wafer boats maintain their shape and dimensional accuracy for extended periods, ensuring consistent wafer spacing and stable gas flow throughout the process.

SiC wafer boats are manufactured using various technologies, including recrystallized silicon carbide (RSiC), which provides high purity and thermal stability without significant sintering aids. This minimizes the risk of contamination in semiconductor environments. The company highlights the material's high hardness and chemical resistance, making it suitable for demanding high-temperature applications.

Ningbo VET Energy Technology Co., Ltd. aims to supply high-quality SiC components that meet the growing industry demand for improved process control and higher yields in semiconductor manufacturing.
