Siebert Financial implements leadership transition ahead of 60th anniversary

Siebert Financial, the financial firm founded in 1967, is restructuring its leadership team as it approaches its 60th anniversary. The transition sees members of the Gebbia family assuming expanded roles to oversee both the core brokerage business and the parent company’s strategic direction.

John J. Gebbia, who has been instrumental in the company’s operations since acquiring it in 2016, will transition to the role of chairman of the board. John M. Gebbia has been named CEO of the subsidiary Muriel Siebert & Co., while David Gebbia and Richard Gebbia will serve as co-CEOs of the parent company, Siebert Financial.

Founded by industry pioneer Muriel ”Mickie” Siebert, the firm was acquired by John and Gloria Gebbia in 2016 following the founder's death. This current leadership adjustment is intended to provide continuity for the firm’s long-term business strategy.
