Sift Launches Org Planning Tool for Workforce Organization Design
Sift has released a new Org Planning capability to assist HR leaders in building, comparing, and sharing organizational structures before implementing changes.
DETROIT – People intelligence platform Sift has launched Org Planning, a new capability designed to help HR and business leaders navigate workforce changes. The tool allows for the construction, comparison, and sharing of proposed organizational structures before commitment to implementation.
The launch comes as organizations face pressure from AI-driven role transformations, accelerating M&A activity, and a shift towards skills-based workforce design over traditional titles and headcount. Sift Org Planning aims to address these challenges by providing clearer intelligence on employee skills and expertise.
Traditional tools such as PowerPoint slides and separate spreadsheets are often insufficient for modern organizational planning. Sift Org Planning integrates directly with HR systems like Workday and UKG, bringing current employee data into the planning process. Users can create multiple scenarios, manipulate them with drag-and-drop functionality, add new positions, and compare the headcount and cost impacts of different options.
"HR teams have always had to leave their org chart to plan the future of their org. Sift Org Planning closes that gap," said Larry Angeli, CEO of Sift. He emphasized that the tool transforms the org chart into a shared canvas focused on capability, not just structure, allowing decisions' impacts to be visualized in real time.
Sift Org Planning is now available to existing customers and as part of Sift's product offering. The company anticipates the tool will aid organizations in navigating AI workforce transformation, post-acquisition integration, and the transition to skills-based organizational models.
