Optical manufacturer Sigma has announced three new additions to its Aizu Prime series of large format cinema lenses. The new models, including the 21mm T1.3 LF, 100mm T1.3 LF, and 125mm T1.3 LF, are slated for a November 2026 release.

The Aizu Prime series lenses are designed to provide consistent image quality and depth-of-field characteristics across all focal lengths, featuring a uniform T1.3 maximum aperture. This specification aims to deliver images with a natural sense of space and depth.

Users can expect consistent color balance, contrast, and flare characteristics throughout the lens series. The optics also offer precise control over distortion and focus breathing, ensuring a cohesive visual performance when switching between focal lengths. The lenses cover a 46.3mm image circle, supporting full-frame and Super 35 formats, as well as large formats like ARRI ALEXA LF Open Gate and VistaVision.

Sigma has focused on combining a compact form factor with high maneuverability for various shooting scenarios. These lenses are suitable for a range of applications, including handheld shooting and use with gimbals and stabilizers. Additionally, the Aizu Prime series is compatible with Cooke /i and ZEISS eXtended Data standards, providing metadata support for film production and VFX post-production workflows.
