Sigma releases 50-120mm F2.8 lens for APS-C mirrorless systems

Sigma has launched the 50-120mm F2.8 DC OS Contemporary lens for APS-C sensors, entering the Chinese market at a price point of 4,999 yuan.

30 October 2026

The new zoom lens, designed for Sony E, Fujifilm X, and Canon RF mounts, provides a full-frame equivalent focal length of 75-180mm. It features a constant F2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range, aimed at balancing light intake with physical size. The optical construction utilizes 18 elements in 13 groups, incorporating specialized low-dispersion and aspherical glass to manage aberrations.

Physical specifications include a weight ranging from 390g to 410g depending on the mount, with a 55mm filter thread. The internal mechanics rely on a high-speed linear motor for autofocus and the company's OS2 optical stabilization algorithm, which claims up to 6.5 stops of compensation at the wide end.

Construction features include dust and splash resistance, alongside a fluorine coating on the front element. This model marks the first time Sigma has included an aperture ring on its Contemporary line of APS-C zoom lenses. The product is now available for purchase in China.
