Signal Allows Linking Multiple Phones to One Account

Signal, the encrypted messaging service, has introduced a new feature allowing multiple phones to be linked to a single account. This update significantly expands the platform's multi-device support, which previously only extended to computers and iPads.

The new functionality permits users to connect both Android and iPhone devices to their existing Signal account. Once linked, messages can be accessed and responded to across all connected devices, enhancing user convenience and accessibility.

Signal also provides an option to transfer an end-to-end encrypted copy of previous messages to each newly linked device. This feature is intended to mitigate risks associated with lost, stolen, or compromised devices.

The update is currently rolling out via Signal version 8.20 for Android and version 8.22 for iPhone and iPad. The company also stated that it has implemented significant interface changes.
