SIGNAL IDUNA Awards SENovation Prize for Smart Solutions
SIGNAL IDUNA Group presented awards to two innovative solutions targeting the needs of an aging population at the SENovation Award ceremony in Dortmund in September 2026.
Dortmund – In September 2026, the SIGNAL IDUNA Group presented awards to two innovative solutions addressing the needs of an aging population at the SENovation Award ceremony held in Dortmund. The competition saw 44 applications from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
"Our aging society is fundamentally changing markets, demand, and needs," stated Torsten Uhlig, Chairman of the Board of SIGNAL IDUNA Group and jury chairman. "Today's old age is active, tech-savvy, and demanding. That's why we support this founder prize dedicated to the diversity of aging."
In the "Vorgründer" (pre-startup) category, the InflamAI team from Springe was recognized for their digital rheumatoid arthritis companion, featuring an integrated flare-up prediction. In the "Startup" category, the Ilmenau-based team Healyan won for their light therapy glasses designed to combat cognitive decline.
Established in 2018, the SENovation Award has since received over 550 team applications. The initiative aims to identify and support solutions that tackle the challenges and opportunities presented by demographic shifts.
