Siili Solutions Cuts Sitefinity Upgrade Effort in Half Using AI Agents
IT services company Siili Solutions has successfully reduced the effort required for a complex Sitefinity platform upgrade by approximately 50 percent through the use of AI agents.

IT services firm Siili Solutions has halved the work required for a complex Sitefinity platform upgrade by employing AI agents, significantly reducing the overall project timeline. This approach was applied to a large-scale upgrade of an educational institution's website from version 13.3 to 15.4 LTS.
Traditionally, such upgrades can take engineering teams two to three weeks to complete, factoring in regression testing and validation. Siili Solutions reports that AI agents handled a substantial portion of repetitive and structured tasks, including code updates, test generation, and automated repairs. This allowed human engineers to concentrate on more complex problem-solving and edge cases.
The upgrade process involved generating tests, performing the upgrade, and subsequent validation. The AI created 76 automated test scenarios, which swiftly identified any broken functionalities. The total time for the upgrade and test validation was approximately 8 hours, a substantial improvement over conventional methods.
Siili Solutions states that this methodology significantly lowers the risks associated with upgrades and enhances long-term maintainability. It demonstrates a practical application of AI for resolving technical challenges within digital platforms.
