Silvretta Classic Rallye 2026 Extends to Liechtenstein and Switzerland
The 2026 Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon will, for the first time, include routes extending into Liechtenstein and Switzerland. The event commemorates the 80th anniversary of the auto motor und sport magazine.
The 28th edition of the Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon in 2026 will expand its traditional route beyond the valley, venturing for the first time into Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Scheduled from July 9-11, 2026, the rally will feature 180 classic vehicles, with its usual base remaining in Partenen, Montafon.
The rally is structured over three days. Thursday kicks off with a 148-kilometer loop from Montafon towards the Laterns and Große Walser valleys. Friday presents the longest stage, a 303-kilometer route into Switzerland and Liechtenstein, including a lunch stop in Wattwil. Saturday's concluding 219-kilometer stage will lead participants through the Lechtal and Arlberg regions.
Highlights of the participating field include an Audi Sport quattro S1 (E2) producing 530 horsepower, an icon from the Group B rally era, alongside rarities such as a 1932 Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 Spyder and a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster. To mark the 80th anniversary of auto motor und sport magazine, rally legend Walter Röhrl is also set to participate.
Organized by Motor Presse Stuttgart in collaboration with Montafon Tourismus, the Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon is known for its emphasis on regularity and driving culture rather than outright speed. The event allows vehicles up to the year 2006 and aims to blend sporting challenge with scenic Alpine landscapes and local hospitality.
