The Scottish rock band Simple Minds, widely recognized for their 1985 hit "Don't You (Forget About Me)", has announced two open-air performances in Germany for the summer of 2025. The concerts are set to take place at the Sparkassenpark in Mönchengladbach and the Loreley Freilichtbühne in St. Goarshausen. Founding members Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill are expected to perform.
An exclusive pre-sale for Telekom customers begins today at 10:45 AM, offering them priority access to tickets before the general public sale. This initiative provides a chance for fans to secure their spots for what is anticipated to be a high-demand event. The band is expected to play a setlist featuring their most popular songs from the 1980s and 1990s, alongside material from their more recent albums.
Simple Minds have a discography spanning over 20 albums and have completed numerous international tours throughout their career. Their legacy includes significant hits such as "Alive and Kicking" and "Belfast Child," which defined a generation of music. Their live shows are known for their energetic and emotionally resonant performances.
The chosen venues, Sparkassenpark in Mönchengladbach and the Loreley Freilichtbühne, are established outdoor performance locations in Germany. The Loreley, situated dramatically along the Rhine River, is noted for its scenic backdrop, promising a memorable concert experience.
