The Secure Campus Awards program recognizes technologies that enhance safety and emergency preparedness in educational institutions and other campus settings. The InformaCast Wearable Alert Badge is designed to enable staff to discreetly and rapidly request assistance, while simultaneously initiating coordinated emergency response actions across campus.
The device features a two-tiered alert system, allowing simple button presses to signal either a request for assistance or a full emergency response. It is designed to comply with regulations such as Alyssa's Law, which mandates silent panic alerts that directly notify emergency services. The badge transmits alerts to the InformaCast platform, which then distributes them to IP phones, overhead speakers, digital signage, and mobile devices.
