Sinopec hosts cultural exchange competition in Egypt
Energy firm Sinopec has concluded a youth cultural ambassador competition in Cairo aimed at fostering ties between China and Egypt.
China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation, known as Sinopec, held the final round and awards ceremony for the "In Search of China-Egypt Youth Cultural Ambassadors" competition in Cairo this week. The program invited participants to present research and perspectives on the historical and economic relations between the two nations.
Sinopec stated that the competition serves as a platform for cultural dialogue. By sponsoring these activities, the corporation seeks to deepen its engagement with the local population in Egypt, a key market for its international operations.
This initiative follows a pattern of large-scale Chinese state-owned enterprises increasing their non-commercial footprint abroad. Through youth-focused programs, Sinopec aims to strengthen its corporate presence and public relations standing within the region.
