SK Hynix to Begin LPDDR6 Production in Late 2026
SK Hynix plans to start mass production of its next-generation LPDDR6 mobile DRAM in the second half of 2026. Initial shipments are reportedly destined for Xiaomi's flagship smartphones.

SK Hynix is slated to commence mass production of its next-generation LPDDR6 mobile DRAM in the latter half of 2026. According to South Korean media reports, the company completed product development in March 2026 and is now finalizing production preparations.
Reports suggest that SK Hynix will supply the initial batches of LPDDR6 memory to Xiaomi for integration into its upcoming flagship smartphones. However, SK Hynix declined to confirm specific customer details.
The LPDDR6 memory is manufactured using a 10nm-class (1c) process, promising enhancements in data processing speed and power efficiency compared to its predecessor. SK Hynix previously announced the completion of global first LPDDR6 product development and certification earlier this year.
SK Hynix and Xiaomi have a long-standing partnership, dating back to 2013 when SK Hynix began supplying DRAM to certain Xiaomi models. Most recently, SK Hynix has provided LPDDR5X memory for Xiaomi phones. The mobile DRAM market is primarily contested by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix.
The demand for mobile DRAM has been driven by increasing needs in areas like AI computing. Industry observers anticipate that LPDDR memory could also see growing adoption in the AI server market, positioning it as a key growth product for the memory sector.
