Skanska has signed a contract with the University of Mary Washington for the construction of a new theatre and renovation of fine arts buildings in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The contract is worth USD 163 million.

Skanska has secured a contract with the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Virginia, for the construction of a new theatre and the renovation of existing fine arts buildings. The contract is valued at USD 163 million, approximately SEK 1.5 billion.
The project involves site development, infrastructure, core shell, and interior fittings for a new multi-story theatre spanning roughly 6,300 square meters, featuring a 293-seat performance hall. Additionally, the scope includes renovations covering 7,600 square meters in the current fine arts buildings, along with an 800-square-meter addition.
Construction and renovation work commenced recently and is projected to conclude by February 2030. This contract will be included in Skanska's US order bookings for the third quarter of 2026.
