Skanska invests 90 million euros in Prague residential project
Skanska is launching the fourth phase of the Emil Kolben District project in Prague, adding 272 apartments to the city's housing stock by 2029.

Skanska is investing approximately CZK 2.2 billion (roughly SEK 1 billion) into the fourth phase of its Emil Kolben District residential development in Prague. The associated construction contract, valued at CZK 1.3 billion, will be reflected in the company's European order bookings for the fourth quarter of 2026.
This phase will introduce 272 low-energy residential units and five commercial spaces to the district. According to Skanska, the project has already secured a pre-sales rate exceeding 30 percent. Once the final phases are completed, the development will provide more than 1,000 homes.
The project emphasizes sustainable building practices, aiming for a BREEAM 'Very Good' certification. Design choices include high energy efficiency, sustainable material usage, and infrastructure to encourage public transit use over private car ownership. The site’s public spaces were developed with local input to include recreational zones and biodiversity-supporting features.
Construction begins in November 2026, with completion scheduled for spring 2029.
