SkinCure Oncology's GentleCure Skin Cancer Treatment Reaches 150,000 Patient Milestone

SkinCure Oncology announced that over 150,000 patients have been treated for common forms of skin cancer without surgery, utilizing the company's GentleCure Image-Guided Superficial Radiation Therapy (IGSRT). The treatment is delivered through a network of local dermatology practices across the United States.

The IGSRT method is designed for nonmelanoma skin cancers. SkinCure Oncology states that the treatment offers a cure rate comparable to traditional Mohs surgery, exceeding 99%, but without the invasiveness of cutting, pain, or the potential need for reconstructive surgery.

Lacye Martini, a patient who underwent the treatment for basal cell carcinoma on her nose, shared her experience. Initially told surgery was the only option, she sought alternatives due to concerns about scarring in a visible facial area.

"I was afraid," Martini said, "because after I was diagnosed, I was told that surgery was the only option, but it was right under my eye – a highly visible spot." She discovered that a local dermatologist offered GentleCure, which involved approximately 20 short treatment sessions with no reported discomfort.

Kerwin Brandt, CEO of SkinCure Oncology, highlighted the positive reception of the GentleCure Experience among both patients and dermatologists. The company partners with practices to expand the availability of this nonsurgical option nationwide.
