Skiptown Expands to Austin with Five-Unit Franchise Agreement
Tech-enabled dog care franchise Skiptown is entering Texas with a new five-unit agreement for the greater Austin area. The first location is slated to open in fall 2027.

Skiptown, a tech-enabled dog care franchise, is expanding into Texas with a signed franchise agreement for five units in the greater Austin area. The first location is scheduled to open in the fall of 2027, with four additional locations to follow across the region.
The new facilities will be owned and operated by local entrepreneurs Marilyn and Matt Willson, who have deep roots in Austin. Their backgrounds combine strong community relationships with business leadership. Marilyn Willson has a history in nonprofit fundraising and real estate, while Matt Willson brings expertise in operations and finance.
"People who love their pups are the same people who show up for their neighbors," said Marilyn Willson. "Pup parents are some of the most caring, community-minded people you'll meet, and Skiptown gives them a place they can trust, where the team knows every pup by name and treats them like family."
The Willsons plan to open units in North Austin, Cedar Park, and Pflugerville. Skiptown offers services including dog daycare, boarding, bathing, grooming, and walking, combined with a technology-enabled experience for bookings and check-ins. The company operates within the growing pet care industry, estimated at over $158 billion globally.
Skiptown currently has locations in Charlotte, NC, Denver, CO, and Atlanta, GA, and is expanding through franchising to multiple states.
