Skyband Systems Begins Production of M100 Avionics Hardware
Skyband Systems has started production of its M100 avionics unit, which combines Iridium PNT with inertial sensing for reliable navigation during GPS disruptions.

Skyband Systems Inc. has commenced production of the M100 avionics unit, reportedly the first of its kind to integrate Iridium positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) with inertial sensing. The device is designed to assist aircraft in maintaining dependable navigation when GPS signals are disrupted.
The company states the M100 unit provides real-time alerts to flight crews regarding GPS spoofing and jamming, while also supplying position and timing data by utilizing Iridium's low-Earth orbit satellite network. Skyband Systems, headquartered in Kirkland, Washington, was founded by former engineering leaders from SpaceX's Starlink program.
The production launch follows reports of GPS signal interference becoming a frequent issue in aviation. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has documented a substantial rise in GPS spoofing incidents between 2023 and 2025. The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has also noted an increase in GPS interference, particularly in regions such as the Eastern Mediterranean and the Baltics.
The M100 unit fuses the Iridium PNT signal with the aircraft's onboard inertial sensors. It can be connected to the aircraft's existing Iridium antenna and deliver data to the cockpit via an Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) application. Skyband Systems plans to exhibit the production unit and demonstrate its capabilities at the upcoming NBAA-BACE trade show in Las Vegas.
