Slate Auto partners with Crayola for EV color options

Slate Auto, an electric vehicle startup, has entered into a partnership with Crayola, known for its art supplies. This collaboration aims to provide customers with distinctly colored vehicle options.

Under the new agreement, Slate Auto will offer five vehicle wrap choices inspired by Crayola's iconic colors: Cerulean, Fern, Jersey Tomato, Razzmatazz, and Dandelion. These wraps are priced at $1,549.99. Customers who choose these color options will also receive a matching Crayola key fob and a "Slatelet," a decorative piece that snaps onto the dashboard.

Slate Auto's business model focuses on customization, allowing buyers to personalize their electric trucks, which are initially sold unpainted. Vehicle wraps, a form of vinyl film applied without painting, are a key element of this strategy, with hundreds of color combinations already available. The Crayola partnership expands this selection further.

This marks Crayola's first foray into the automotive industry. A company representative stated that the collaboration represents an effort to explore new applications for their well-known brand products.
