Smart Previews All-Electric #2 Engineering Ahead of Paris Debut

Smart provided a glimpse into the engineering of its forthcoming all-electric #2 model during a workshop in Beijing on September 28. The event preceded the vehicle's global debut scheduled for the Paris Motor Show on October 12.
The compact, two-seater car utilizes a dedicated Electric Compact Architecture, designed specifically for vehicles measuring under three meters in length. This platform integrates a 35.8 kWh battery, featuring cells from manufacturer CATL, and an all-in-one electric drive system.
Smart aims for the #2 to achieve an estimated range of approximately 300 kilometers under the WLTP standard. The company also stated that the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes using DC fast charging capabilities.
The company is positioning the #2 as a new entrant in the urban electric vehicle market, emphasizing its compact design and efficient charging technology.
