Snap CBO Ajit Mohan to Step Down

Snap Inc. announced that Chief Business Officer Ajit Mohan is stepping down from his role, with his departure effective December 31, 2026. Mohan has been with the social media company for four years.

Mohan cited personal reasons and a desire to spend more time with his family in Singapore as the cause for his departure. He noted that his recent work required extensive travel between New York, Los Angeles, and Singapore.

In a regulatory filing, Snap stated that Mohan's exit is not related to any disagreements over the company's strategy, management, operations, or financial practices. Ronan Harris, who has led Snap's Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) business since 2022, has been appointed to the newly created role of Chief Commercial Officer. He will oversee global advertising sales and report directly to CEO Evan Spiegel.

Mohan joined Snap in January 2023 as President of the Asia Pacific region and was promoted to Chief Business Officer in February 2025. In this capacity, he was responsible for growing Snap's global advertising business.

The departure comes as Snap works to monetize its significant user base in India, where it claims over 250 million users. The company has reported substantial growth in its advertiser base and spending in the region, indicating a strategic focus on leveraging the Indian market for revenue.
