Society of Actuaries Elects New Board Members and Leadership

The Society of Actuaries (SOA) has revealed the outcomes of its 2026 elections, resulting in the appointment of five new board members and the selection of Sherry Chan as President Elect and Vice Chair for the 2026–2027 term.

The newly elected board members are scheduled to commence their duties following the 2026 SOA ImpACT Annual Conference, which concludes at the end of October. The incoming members include Jessica Dang, Murshid Kuttihassan, Taylor Pickett, Greg Warren, and Andy Wieduwilt.

Sherry Chan, a Managing Director at EY and former Chief Actuary for major public pension systems in New York City and Ohio, will serve as the 2026–2027 SOA President Elect and Vice Chair, progressing to become the organization's 79th President and Chair. Chan has previously served on the SOA Board of Directors for three years and has been involved in mentoring and supporting actuarial education.

Ian Duncan will assume the role of SOA President and Chair for the 2026–2027 term, with Dave Dillon serving as Immediate Past President. The SOA is the world's largest actuarial professional organization, representing over 35,000 actuaries in more than 100 countries.
