Sohu Reports Profitability in Q2 2026
Sohu announced total revenues of $136 million for the second quarter of 2026, a 7% increase year-over-year. The company also reported a net profit, turning around from a previous loss.

Chinese technology firm Sohu announced its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, reporting total revenues of $136 million. This figure represents a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2025, though it is a 4% decrease from the previous quarter. The company achieved a net profit of $200,000 under GAAP, a significant turnaround from a net loss of $20 million recorded in the second quarter of 2025.
The revenue breakdown shows $15 million from marketing services, a 3% decrease year-over-year, and $116 million from online games, marking a 10% increase year-over-year. The growth in the gaming segment is partly attributed to the PC game "Tian Long Ba Bu · Gui Lai," launched in the third quarter of 2025.
However, mobile gaming experienced a 13% year-over-year decline in average monthly active users, a trend attributed by the company to the natural attrition of older titles. Looking ahead to the third quarter of 2026, Sohu forecasts marketing service revenues to grow between 3% and 10% year-over-year, while online game revenues are projected to decrease between 29% and 35% year-over-year.
Chairman and CEO Charles Zhang commented that the company's results exceeded its own expectations. He highlighted the strategies for Sohu's media platform and gaming business, emphasizing content development and events to engage users and explore commercial opportunities.
