Sol Foundry Raises $4 Million for AI Email Automation

Sol Foundry, a startup aiming to automate tasks promised in emails, has raised $4 million in a funding round led by General Catalyst, with participation from Nexus Venture Partners, DeVC, and Peercheque.

The company's AI assistant scans user inboxes for commitments like "I'll send the deck" or "I'll set up time." Once identified, the AI automatically begins working on the implied task, which could involve research, document creation, scheduling, or drafting replies. Users retain final approval over all actions.

Founded in 2025 by former Cred executives Anish Karan, Prateek Srivastava, and Ranjith Nair, Sol Foundry emerges from stealth to address what they see as a gap in current AI assistants. While tools like Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini assist with drafting and organization, Sol Foundry's product aims for proactive task execution.

The platform uses OpenAI's models and integrates with Google Workspace, with Outlook integration in early testing. The company plans to use the new capital primarily for research and development, including talent acquisition and model costs, with wider access planned soon.
