Dutch student team Solar Team Eindhoven announced a new sustainable medical mobility concept on July 16, 2026: Stella Juva. The team's objective is to enhance healthcare accessibility in regions where infrastructure and fuel supply are restricted.

Stella Juva is designed to operate entirely on solar energy, powering all onboard medical equipment. This concept offers a direct solution for areas where fuel or electricity shortages currently impede access to healthcare services. A full presentation of the vehicle is scheduled for late July 2026.

The team leverages its established expertise in solar vehicle innovation, having won the "Cruiser" category of the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge in Australia four consecutive times. Previous projects include Stella Terra, the world's first all-terrain solar vehicle.

Field trials for the solar ambulance are planned for August 2026 with local NGOs. These tests are intended to demonstrate how Stella Juva can support patient care and ensure the safe operation and charging of medical equipment in remote or difficult-to-access areas.
