Sonar Extends Code Governance to Self-Managed Infrastructure
SonarQube Server 2026.5 LTA now offers Sonar's AI-driven code governance and verification capabilities for enterprises operating on their own infrastructure, including on-premise and air-gapped environments.
Austin, Texas – Sonar has released SonarQube Server 2026.5 LTA, bringing its agent-based code governance and verification features to enterprise-controlled infrastructure. This update extends capabilities previously available only on SonarQube Cloud to self-managed deployments, including on-premise, air-gapped, and VPC-restricted environments.
The new release allows enterprises to manage code creation, verification, and issue resolution entirely on their own infrastructure. This move addresses the increasing velocity of software development driven by AI coding agents, evidenced by significant growth in code commits and pull requests reported by platforms like GitHub. The need for robust quality and security controls is paramount as development speeds increase.
"AI has made code creation abundant, but confidence in that code is scarce," said Ori Yitzhaki, Chief Product Officer at Sonar. "Enterprises should not have to choose between the speed of agentic development and control over their code, data, and governance. With SonarQube Server 2026.5 LTA, they can apply the same guardrails to agentic development on the infrastructure they control."

SonarQube Server 2026.5 LTA is now generally available. The agentic capabilities are available for purchase with SonarQube Server Enterprise and Data Center editions.
