Sonos Adds iPhone Lockscreen Controls via App Update

Sonos has released an update to its mobile app that introduces support for iOS Live Activities. This new functionality gives iPhone users quick access to audio playback controls directly on their lockscreen.

The update allows users to manage their Sonos audio system without needing to unlock their phone and open the Sonos app. Basic information about the current content and playback controls will be displayed on the lockscreen.

While some features, such as album art display, are not available, the Live Activities feature provides essential controls for listening to music and podcasts through a Sonos system.

Sonos has responded to user requests by adding this functionality. The company previously announced it was developing the feature in a Reddit post spotted by 9to5Mac.
