Sonos updates mobile application with playback presets and AI voice assistant beta
Sonos has introduced custom playback presets to its mobile application and announced a US-based beta program for its upcoming AI voice assistant.

Sonos is updating its mobile application to include new playback presets, allowing users to configure specific volume levels and room settings directly from the homescreen. The update is intended to streamline playback control by reducing the steps required to initiate audio in specific zones.
In addition to the interface changes, the company is preparing to launch a beta test for its proprietary AI voice assistant, Sonos Voice Control. Interested users in the United States may join a waitlist starting November 6, with access scheduled to open on November 12. The assistant is designed to handle tasks such as room grouping, playback navigation, and timer management.
This update follows a period of software instability for the audio hardware manufacturer, which has been working to resolve user complaints regarding its redesigned application. By adding functional features like presets and expanding its voice capabilities, Sonos is attempting to address core usability concerns within its ecosystem.
