Sony discontinues development of Ratchet & Clank mobile game

Sony has halted development on the mobile title Ratchet & Clank: Rift Adventure. The game will be removed from app stores in November and servers will close in May 2027.

7 November 2026

Sony PlayStation has announced the immediate discontinuation of its mobile arena shooter, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Adventure. The decision effectively cancels the project shortly after its entry into the mobile gaming market.

Following a final content update issued to players, the game is scheduled to be removed from application stores on November 21, 2026. Official game servers will remain online until May 1, 2027, at which point the title will be rendered unplayable.

The company stated that the termination of this specific project will not impact the broader Ratchet & Clank franchise or other existing PlayStation services. This move highlights the ongoing challenges major publishers face when attempting to translate established console IP into the highly saturated mobile gaming landscape.
