Reports suggest Sony may launch a new handheld console, codenamed "Project Canis," alongside the PS6. The device is expected to feature an advanced Tandem OLED screen with high refresh rates.
Rumors indicate that Sony might introduce a new handheld console, codenamed "Project Canis," to coincide with the release of the PlayStation 6. The device is reportedly set to focus heavily on display technology.
The handheld is expected to be equipped with a high-specification OLED panel utilizing energy-efficient organic light-emitting materials. This panel is believed to be a Tandem OLED type, potentially achieving local peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. Full DCI-P3 color gamut support and an approximate 25% reduction in power consumption are also anticipated.
Furthermore, the screen is rumored to have a native 1080p resolution and support for 120Hz refresh rates and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). For demanding games, the PSSR 3.0 technology is expected to be employed, aiming to boost frame rates from 30-60 FPS to 60-120 FPS through frame generation.
