Sony Releases PS5 Slim in "Midnight Black" for Japanese Market
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is launching a "Midnight Black" version of the PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition in Japan on November 19. The console is region-locked to Japan and supports only Japanese language settings.
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has announced the release of a new "Midnight Black" color variant for its PlayStation 5 Slim Digital Edition console in Japan. The console is scheduled to go on sale on November 19, priced at 55,000 yen (approximately 2,326 RMB).
This new model is exclusively for the Japanese market and will feature Japanese language settings and be locked to Japanese online services. The console comes equipped with an 825GB SSD.
Additionally, Sony will offer a "Midnight Black" color version of the disc drive separately for 11,980 yen (approximately 506.6 RMB). This allows users who purchase the digital edition console to still play physical media.
Sony is also extending the warranty for Japanese buyers. Customers purchasing the PS5 console before March 31, 2027, will receive a total of two years of manufacturer warranty, an extension of one year from the standard warranty period.
