A spokesperson for the company confirmed to game journalist Brian Crecente that the Thalgau plant's disc production will see a reduction of only 10 percent by the year 2028. Initial reports had incorrectly stated a 90 percent decrease.
This clarification suggests that physical game discs will maintain a presence in the gaming market for a more extended period than expected. While digital downloads have rapidly gained popularity, physical media continues to hold a specific market segment and demand among consumers.
