Sony to Host State of Play for Chinese Game Shadow Blade Zero
Sony will host a dedicated State of Play broadcast for the upcoming Chinese game Shadow Blade Zero. The event will feature the first public gameplay demonstration and details on PS5-specific features.

Sony is set to host a dedicated State of Play broadcast for the Chinese-developed game "Shadow Blade Zero" (影之刃零) on August 18. The approximately 15-to-20-minute program will offer the first public gameplay demonstration, highlight unique performance features for the PlayStation 5 version, and showcase the game's punk-wuxia world.
This marks the first time Sony has dedicated a State of Play event solely to a Chinese game; previous broadcasts typically covered multiple titles. "Shadow Blade Zero" is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and blends Chinese martial arts (wuxia) themes with a steampunk aesthetic.
The game is now available for pre-order. The digital standard edition is priced at 268 yuan, and the digital deluxe edition at 328 yuan. Pre-order bonuses include the "Treasure Pot" accessory and the "Heritage" outfit. "Shadow Blade Zero" is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 on October 29, 2026.
Developed and published by Beijing Lingyoufang Studio, "Shadow Blade Zero" is a third-person action-adventure RPG. It features a dark art style, fast-paced combat, and is set in a fictional world merging Chinese martial arts with steampunk elements. Players assume the role of a swordsman with a critically injured heart, given only 66 days to live, who must navigate a world of conflict and expose a grand conspiracy.
