Sony PlayStation's Guerrilla Games studio is reportedly making significant adjustments to its upcoming online action game, "Horizon Hunters Gathering." According to Bloomberg, the development plan for the title has been altered after early player tests yielded unfavorable feedback.

Following a restart initiated in June, the game's broader live-service components are being stripped away. The project is being reshaped into a smaller, more traditional cooperative multiplayer experience that will also incorporate a story mode.

Sources familiar with the matter state that Guerrilla Games informed its development team during an internal meeting on Tuesday that a new milestone version must be submitted by December for evaluation. If the project does not pass assessment, most of the development staff will be reassigned to another project facing a similar year-end review.

Guerrilla Games is known for its critically acclaimed single-player titles, such as "Horizon Zero Dawn" and "Horizon Forbidden West." The restructuring of "Horizon Hunters Gathering" reflects broader challenges PlayStation has faced in expanding its portfolio into the live-service gaming market, leading to the cancellation of several projects across various franchises.
