Sopris Capital Acquires Blackford Analysis to Strengthen AI Capabilities
Investment firm Sopris Capital has acquired Blackford Analysis, a pioneer in AI orchestration for medical imaging. The acquisition expands Sopris's portfolio of health technology companies.
Investment firm Sopris Capital has completed its acquisition of Blackford Analysis, a company specializing in AI orchestration for medical imaging, from Bayer. This move is intended to enhance Sopris's health technology platform and its focus on AI-enabled patient care.
Blackford provides a platform that allows healthcare organizations to evaluate, deploy, and manage AI imaging applications at scale. The platform supports over 130 AI applications from more than 45 vendors, offering a vendor-neutral approach to integrating AI into imaging workflows without disrupting existing operations.
Sopris Capital plans to combine Blackford with Azra AI, another of its portfolio companies focused on AI for cancer patient identification and management. This integration aims to enable more comprehensive AI support for patients throughout their care journey, from initial scans to long-term survivorship.
The acquisition is part of Sopris Capital's strategy to build a portfolio of health technology companies focused on AI-driven patient care and connected, longitudinal patient journeys.
