Soundtrace Hires Former Shoebox Leaders to Expand Hearing Conservation
Soundtrace, a hearing conservation technology company, has appointed Dr. Christi Haynes as Director of Audiology and Alexa Gough as Enterprise Sales Director. Both join from Shoebox.
CINCINNATI – Soundtrace, a physician-led hearing conservation platform for industrial employers, has appointed two senior hires to support its growth. Dr. Christi Haynes, formerly Lead Occupational Audiologist at Shoebox, joins as Director of Audiology. Alexa Gough, formerly Director of North American Sales and Occupational Health at Shoebox, joins as Enterprise Sales Director.
These additions are intended to help Soundtrace expand its offerings beyond audiometric testing. The company aims to provide a comprehensive hearing conservation program that unifies hearing testing, noise monitoring, and hearing protection fit testing on a single platform. This approach is designed to move beyond merely meeting compliance requirements.
Jeff Wilson, co-founder and CEO of Soundtrace, stated that many existing hearing conservation programs focus on compliance without effectively preventing hearing loss. "This industry has spent decades optimizing for checking the compliance box," Wilson said. "Mobile vans focused on completing the testing and moving on to the next company, leaving the clinical follow-up and critical work of actually managing hearing conservation to employers to figure out."
Soundtrace's platform integrates audiometric testing with noise exposure data from its cloud-connected noise dosimeters and hearing protection device (HPD) fit testing. This unified data allows for earlier identification of hearing decline and provides employers with actionable information to intervene before further hearing loss occurs. The company now supports hearing conservation programs in 46 states.
