SpaceX Schedules 13th Starship Test Flight
SpaceX plans to conduct the 13th test flight of its Starship spacecraft on or after July 16. The flight will test several improvements based on lessons learned from previous missions.

SpaceX has announced that the 13th test flight of its Starship spacecraft is tentatively scheduled for July 16. The mission, with a 90-minute launch window, is part of the company's ongoing development of a fully reusable space transportation system.
Following the previous 12th test flight, SpaceX has implemented numerous hardware and software updates to both the Starship and its Super Heavy booster. These address issues encountered with engine startup timing and unexpected shutdowns observed during the prior flight, aiming to enhance reliability and performance.
Key objectives for this test flight include the first deployment of 20 Starlink V3 satellites and a single Raptor engine relight in space. The mission also aims for a controlled descent and splashdown in the Indian Ocean. Additionally, the flight will evaluate the performance of upgraded thermal protection tiles under various installation methods and flight conditions.
SpaceX will provide a live broadcast of the launch, noting that the schedule is subject to change based on operational readiness and weather. The company also released a video detailing the final preparations undertaken by engineers and technicians.
