SpaceXAI plans large AI data center in Texas

SpaceXAI, Elon Musk's artificial intelligence venture, is planning to construct a new, large-scale data center at its headquarters in Texas. According to reports, the company has scouted multiple locations and is considering building several new facilities from scratch.

This plan represents a significant expansion of the company's computing power infrastructure, crucial for its growing AI operations. SpaceXAI recently consolidated operations with xAI, integrating space, satellite internet, and AI software and computing services.

The company currently operates the Colossus data center in Tennessee, utilizing tens of thousands of Nvidia's latest AI GPUs. It also has agreements to supply computing resources to other AI firms, including Google and Anthropic.

SpaceXAI is also advancing its ambitious plan for AI computing in space, having requested approval for up to one million satellites capable of orbital computing. This parallel development of ground-based and space-based infrastructure underscores the company's broad investment in the future of AI.
