Spago Shanghai Marks First Anniversary at The St. Regis
One year after opening in Shanghai’s Bund district, the restaurant looks back on its first year of operations and international recognition.
Spago Shanghai concludes its first year of operation on the 21st floor of The St. Regis on the Bund. Since its opening in November 2025, the restaurant has served as the brand's first location in mainland China, positioning itself within the competitive Shanghai fine-dining sector.
The establishment has received several industry honors over the past twelve months, including the AHEAD Asia Awards 2026 for design and recognition from Wine Spectator and The World of Fine Wine for its beverage program. The menu focuses on the signature Californian cuisine style established by Wolfgang Puck, adapted to the local market.
To commemorate the milestone, the restaurant hosted a collaborative dinner in October featuring Wolfgang Puck and his son, Byron Lazaroff-Puck. The management team stated that they plan to continue focusing on their current operational model, balancing international standards with local terroir as they enter their second year.
