Sparkasse app ranked top banking application in dual German assessments
The Sparkasse app, developed by Finanz Informatik, has secured top rankings in both Capital and Handelsblatt 2026 banking performance evaluations.

The Sparkasse application, developed by Finanz Informatik, has been named the top banking app in Germany following two separate industry evaluations for 2026. The app received the top distinction in a study conducted by Capital magazine and the Institute for Asset Management (IVA) for the fifth consecutive year. Additionally, the application secured first place in the Handelsblatt “Mobile Banking 2026” ranking for the fourth year in a row.
Capital magazine’s analysis, which evaluated 25 banking applications, awarded the Sparkasse app a score of 92.6 out of 100. Evaluators specifically cited the breadth of its features, including intuitive navigation, secure login procedures, and comprehensive card management. The study noted that the app outperformed various neobanks, particularly in the quality of its customer support and feature availability.
Handelsblatt’s assessment classified the app’s user experience as "excellent" and its security measures as "very good." The platform currently serves approximately 19.9 million active users, cementing its position as a primary digital interface for the Sparkasse financial group.
Andreas Schelling, CEO of Finanz Informatik, stated that these rankings validate the company’s ongoing efforts to prioritize digital security and customer-centric functionality. The company continues to update the app with features such as intelligent search tools and integration with European payment systems like Wero to maintain its market position.
