Sparkonomy Launches Platform to Protect Creators from Unauthorized AI Training

Indian startup Sparkonomy has launched the Open Creator Graph, a platform designed to safeguard the digital voices and images of content creators from unauthorized training of AI models. The service provides creators with a free public record to consolidate their cross-platform identities and define how their data may be used for AI training.

The company states that AI tools frequently misrepresent creators, with fewer than 1% of tested creators receiving an accurate description from five major AI models. This issue is compounded when creators' likenesses or voices are used to train AI without consent. Sparkonomy's Open Creator Graph enables "traffic light" permissions, allowing creators to permit, restrict, or prohibit AI usage.

The platform publishes machine-readable data for search engines and AI systems, pulling audience figures directly from official APIs. It also offers a tamper-evident log for issued consent certificates via an EU-compliant timestamp service. Globally, an estimated 300 million creators earn a combined $80 billion annually, and all are expected to benefit from the service.

Sparkonomy has been bootstrapped to date but plans to launch commercial AI business services in the coming quarters and is preparing to raise funding. Compared to competitors like Modash and HypeAuditor, Sparkonomy differentiates itself by offering public identities and AI usage permissions for free to read. The platform also integrates machine-readable opt-out options for text and data mining.
