Speedway Motorsports Joins zMAX CARS Tour Ownership Group

Speedway Motorsports, under the leadership of CEO Marcus Smith, has been added to the ownership group of the zMAX CARS Tour. The move brings a significant motorsport entertainment promoter into the premier asphalt late model series in the Southeast.

The company now holds a stake alongside NASCAR personalities Dale Earnhardt Jr., Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Justin Marks. Justin Marks, a co-owner of the CARS Tour, stated the addition of Speedway Motorsports, with its extensive experience and business infrastructure, will be valuable for the series' growth into a "can't-miss short track racing" product.

Speedway Motorsports, founded by NASCAR Hall of Famer Bruton Smith, has a long history in the sport, operating multiple prominent race tracks across the U.S. and engaging in related businesses such as race car manufacturing and radio broadcasting. CEO Marcus Smith highlighted the company's commitment to grassroots racing and developing future drivers.

The announcement coincides with the upcoming zMAX CARS Tour doubleheader featuring Late Model Stock and Pro Late Model cars on Friday, July 17, at North Wilkesboro Speedway. The historic track has become a key venue on the CARS Tour circuit since its revival in 2022.
