Set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression, 'Spider-Noir' follows an aging private detective forced to reprise his role as the city's sole superhero. The first season, comprising eight episodes, premiered on MGM+ in the US on May 25, 2026, and launched globally on Prime Video on May 27. The series offered viewers the choice of watching in black and white or color.
Nicolas Cage, who played Ben Reilly / Spider-Noir, marked his first lead role in a television series with this project. Cage has commented that the timely conclusion is beneficial for maintaining a self-contained narrative structure, preventing potential future seasons from diluting the original story's focus. He described the first season as a "perfect television experience," believing the crew successfully told a complete story from beginning to end without unnecessary length.
